Pete Cassarly is an Altoona native and graduate of the Altoona Area High School along with the Greater Altoona Career & Technology Center. After high school he went on to pursue his Associate Degree from Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology in Carpentry Technology. Before the start of his sophomore year he enlisted in the United States Army Reserve as a Construction & Masonry Specialist and shipped out to Fort Benning Georgia after graduation. Upon his return from Basic he enrolled at the Pennsylvania College of Technology in Williamsport. He graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor Degree in Residential Construction Technology & Management and a minor in Business Administration. A few months later he obtained the Combat Engineer MOS, and began his train up for a deployment to Afghanistan with the 420th Engineer Company (Route Clearance) out of Indiana, Pa. He deployed as a Combat Engineer Team Leader in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Pete relocated to the Pittsburgh area after returning home from a year long deployment. He went on to earn his Graduate Degree in Organizational Leadership from Robert Morris University, before he finally settle back home in 2014. He is currently an Army Reserve Staff Sergeant in an instructor unit. In the civilian sector he is a project manager for a local division 8 supplier.
